What inspired you to join the Investments & Wealth Institute initially?:
At the time the Investment industry needed a group of professional and ethical minded people and IMCA provided that framework
What do you like to do for fun?:
Spend time with family, including grandkids, ski, golf, travel, read and continue to expand my knowledge.
What is something not many people know about you?:
– I was selected to develop and run as the fiduciary, a Blind Trust for the sitting 72nd Secretary of the Treasury of the United States.
– I was also on The National Constitution Center non-profit Investment committee with John C. Bogle the founder of Vanguard to create the new National Constitution Center. You can now sign your name to the Constitution of the United States
– I worked with CERN in Geneva Switzerland (the world’s largest and most powerful particle accelerator) to redefine the pension risk profile to maximize the probability of meeting their objectives. When I asked what they viewed was their biggest risk they simply said, “ we will blow up the world”. It was not what I expected!
– I performed due diligence on Bernie Madoff twice for two major financial institutions and turned him down both times!
How has the Institute shaped your career over the years?
It has provided a lifetime of professional development, including like-minded professionals who have all become friends. All focused on helping each of us do the right thing for our clients.
What is the best vacation you’ve taken?
Costa Rica with my family, was filled with adventure, including beaches, tropical jungles, and all of us witnessing a live volcano mini eruption one evening.
Can you share one of your favorite memories from an Institute event or program?:
Helping co-develop the CIMA program with the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School Executive Education program
As the Institute celebrates 40 years, what are your hopes for its future?
To continue to be the top professional provider of education, ethics, and career guidance so that we all continue the lifelong goal of learning how to best serve our clients
